Raising Funds to Continue the Social Mission of Kids 4 Green Culebra on the Island of Culebra

On Saturday, September 14, starting at 5:00 PM, a major event will take place at Seafood & More Restaurant at the College of Engineers and Surveyors of Puerto Rico. This event will bring together art and music for this great cause.

The exhibition "LA COMPARSA," created by the Ponce artist Enrique R., will be presented, accompanied by renowned local artists from the Bohemia and Declamation genres, such as José Oscar, Karmensa, Yllied, and Frankie Gautier. This incredible evening promises to be a magnificent night with a social purpose of great importance to support the Culebra community.

These activities are organized with the aim of continuing to impact the lives of Culebra's children and families, as has been done over the past nearly 20 years, thanks to the selfless support that, despite challenges, has never been lacking.

The fruits of this hard work are confirmed by the young people with their stories of achievements and in the faces of joy and excitement of our children, in the words of gratitude we constantly receive from Culebra's families. The support I receive from these fundraising activities is what today drives me more strongly to build the multidisciplinary center, which will also serve as the official headquarters of Kids 4 Green Culebra Inc.

Luis Rojas, known as "The Poet of Rock in Spanish," returns to the scene to offer an exclusive concert to benefit Kids 4 Green Culebra. The event will take place on Saturday, August 30th at 7 pm at the Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy the unique blend of poetic lyrics and the emotive sound of rock that characterizes this talented Puerto Rican singer and composer. We have put 50 tickets on sale at $18 each. Buy your tickets now and secure your spot on this special night.

Thank you for your support! We continue to move forward towards our goal of social justice and educational development on the Island of Culebra.

During the past summer months, Kids 4 Green Culebra Inc. has received multiple displays of support that have brought us closer to the goal of building the Multidisciplinary Educational Community Center for the educational and social advancement of the children and youth of the Municipality of Culebra Island.

Thanks to the space provided by different entities to publicize our social work in crowded places in San Juan, Fajardo and soon Ponce, the number of volunteers and allies who continue to join our social cause as well as the support received by the main media outlets that reported on our project, we were able to make contact with new organizations, professional resources and foundations that have great interest in joining and supporting the Culebrense community.

These efforts are also strengthened by private companies that will support us in this social journey. Our organization will continue to impact the lives of Culebrense children and families as it has done for the past almost 20 years, thanks to a generous support that, although it has had challenges, has never been lacking.

The fruits of this hard work are confirmed by the young people with their stories of achievements and in the faces of joy and excitement of our children, in the words of gratitude that we constantly receive from Culebrense families. This support today drives us with greater strength to build the multidisciplinary center that will also be our official headquarters.

Although education is the foundation for the construction of the new center, its purpose encompasses much more. We propose to build an innovative, self-sufficient, high-tech building that respects the environment and responds to climate change through the use of renewable energy, rainwater harvesting and water recycling systems, as well as an ergonomic and holistic design. The project will provide open spaces for the development of educational, social, recreational and tourist activities focused on environmental justice and social equity. This building will also have a food storage area, an eco-friendly community kitchen and laundry. Services will be 24/7 in areas and activities designed for the entire Culebra community, from children, seniors and entire families. It will be a legacy of service, unity and expansion for the next generations, who share, have fun and learn together as a family. A trained and attentive staff will always assist you outside of school hours, when parents or guardians work and/or are away from Culebra Island, thus reducing school absenteeism. We will have employment opportunities focused on students and their families residing on Culebra Island, housing for students in special cases,

teachers, volunteers, professional resources, therapists, among others.

Does it sound ambitious? Of course it does, because our Culebra community deserves expansion and tools on its own Island. We do not have to remember the many anecdotes that have constantly complicated our days in Culebra historically due to the lack of essential resources that allow the sustainable and continuous development of its population. This multidisciplinary center may not solve everything, but we have no doubt that it will be a great step towards an Island of Culebra with greater educational opportunities and sustainable life.

During these months, we have been immersed in the process of proposals, training and program development to advance towards our goal. The calls and messages received from people and organizations wishing to contribute have been extraordinary and we are grateful that they continue to arrive. There is no small amount of support, because absolutely everything we have achieved has been with the help of big hearts that together have allowed us to continue walking to where we are today.
